Year 6

Weekly Update - Friday 27th March 2026

Dear Year 6 Parents and Carers,

Thank you to all parents who were able to attend the parent consultations this week, if there was any reason you were not able to make the appointment, please do contact your class teacher to arrange another meeting.

Our Learning After Half Term:

Maths: We will finish our unit on statistics – line graphs have still to be to fully covered. We have a short unit on negative numbers and that will conclude our coverage of the Year 6 maths curriculum. We will then be revising the different elements that we know make up the majority of marks in the end of year assessments.

English: We will write a persuasive letter – looking at formal language and sentence starters.

Foundation: Geography – We will continue to look at sustainable energy and renewable energy sources.

Science: We will start our next unit on living things and their habitats – starting with adaption and evolution.

RE – We will start our next unit on the teachings of Buddhism.

Computing – We will look at AI generated images and text.

Homework

Maths: Arithmetic, set Monday due Wednesday.

English: 20 – 30 minutes of a CGP book (either SPAG or reading comprehension).

Maths: 20 – 30 minutes of CGP book (either arithmetic or maths).

Reading journals: Please add input once per week on how many pages / what is being read.

Notices and Reminders

Easter revision – Hopefully the children will continue to use their CGP books for revision whilst away, we completely understand that everyone will have their own plans and their own commitments, but a small amount of practise goes a long way.
