The children will continue with independent learning and focus on foundation subjects such as Computing, Science, History, Art, PSHE, RE, and PE.

Computing- Please could your child bring in a plastic bottle so they can make a rocket as part of our computing lesson? Please bring these in by Friday 30th January, ready for the week commencing 2nd February.

Windsor Castle trip– Thursday 29th January 2026

Children will need a packed lunch and a water bottle for the day, carried in a backpack they can manage themselves. Please ensure there are no fizzy drinks and all containers are non-breakable. Given the time of year, children should wear their school polo top and school jumper or cardigan as part of their uniform. They may wear their own trousers, for example jogging bottoms or leggings, along with comfortable footwear and a coat. If the weather is especially cold, a coat along with a named hat, scarf and gloves is also recommended.

If your child has school dinners, please remember not to pre-order their dinner for Thursday 29th January.

If your child is entitled to Free School Meals, and would like a free packed lunch for your child, please notify the school by Monday 19th January.

Victorian day- On Friday, 6th February 2026, we will be dressing up as Victorians for our Victorian Day at school. The teachers will be dressing up too!

Please could all children come dressed as a Victorian child on this day. If you are unable to get a costume for your child, please speak to your child’s class teacher. There is no need to feel pressured to buy a brand-new Victorian costume. These can easily be made using old shirts and school trousers.

Please note that the children will not have PE on this day. Instead, we will be doing a Victorian PE lesson (a drill), so the children do not require their PE kits.

Coats: Please ensure that all children bring and wear a named coat to school. During icy weather, make sure your child’s hat, scarf, and gloves are clearly labelled.

Spelling homework: Weekly spelling books will be sent home on Monday and should be returned the following Monday so that new spellings can be added. The children will have one week to complete their spelling homework.

Maths practice: If your child would like to play some fun maths games and work on their maths fluency, Top Marks is a great resource. Hit the Button is an excellent way for your child to learn their number bonds to 10 and then to 20.

PE days:  As the weather is getting colder, please can children wear joggers or leggings for their outdoor PE lesson. (they can wear shorts under their joggers to wear in the classroom if they are hot).

Amber: Monday (outdoor) and Friday (indoor)

Blue: Monday (outdoor) and Friday (indoor)

  • Safeguarding: To help us safeguard all children, we kindly ask that parents do not enter the classrooms at drop-off or pick-up times. This helps us maintain a safe and calm environment for all pupils.
  • Show and tell days:

Monday and Tuesday- Your child may bring in a certificate, medal, fun facts, etc. Please do not bring toys.

  • Healthy snack: We kindly request that you provide a healthy snack (fruit or vegetables) for your child to enjoy in the afternoons. Please note that the school provides a morning snack for the children. We are noticing there are biscuits, crisps and chocolate. If your child’s snack is placed in a tupperware container, please ensure it is labelled with their name.
  • Jewellery: Please can we remind you that if children are wearing earrings, they should be small, plain studs. Ideally, children should not wear earrings on PE days; otherwise, they will need to take them out themselves. Additionally, please ensure that if your child is wearing a watch, it is taken off prior to our PE lessons.
  • Reading record books– Please try and fill in the reading record so we can see how much your child is reading (just the book name and an adult initial). When your child has read these books a minimum of 3 times, they can change their books in class. Please can reading records be brought into school every day.
  • We kindly request that children do not bring fiddle toys or any other toys from home to school. These items are getting lost, which is causing upset among the children. To avoid any further upset, please ensure that all toys are kept at home. However, children who have specific arrangements in place and require these toys for support are exempt from this request. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
