Ofsted Inspection Report for Eastwick Infant School

Ofsted have assessed the school to be good, and they have recognised a number of strengths which demonstrate how the school has continued on its improvement journey since the previous inspection in December 2018.

The letter below is provided for the school, parents and carers to share with their children. It describes Ofsted’s main findings from the inspection of their school.

Ofsted Inspection Report for Eastwick Junior School

We are very proud to share the outcome letter from our recent Ofsted inspection of the Junior school which took place on 4th and 5th March 2025, stating that standards have been maintained. As a previously ‘good’ school from the previous inspection in 2019, the report does not provide individual gradings. However, the report does capture the many aspects and examples of how our schools have developed and improved in recent times, whilst also celebrating those long-lasting features that make Eastwick Schools a special and unique place to learn, develop and thrive. The report is therefore a testament to the hard work and dedication of our staff, pupils, and the entire school community.

Inclusive Nature of the School: Our commitment to inclusivity has been recognized as a cornerstone of our school’s ethos.

This is a nurturing and welcoming school, where staff support pupils to be ‘ready for everything’

Relationships between pupils and staff are strong.

Pupils are happy in school and know adults will always help them.

High Academic Expectations and Pupil Achievement: We set high academic expectations for all our pupils, and their achievements reflect this dedication.

The school encourages pupils to do their best and to achieve highly. Pupils take pride in their work and talk about their learning with interest and enthusiasm.

Pupils learn a lot through the broad curriculum. This prepares them well for secondary school.

Strong Culture for Positive Behaviour: Our school fosters a strong culture of positive behaviour, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for all.

Pupils behave well, developing independence and resilience. They understand the school expectations for their behaviour and live up to them.

The behaviour policy and revised procedures help everyone to understand what is expected.

Highly Effective SEND Support and Achievement: Our SEND provision has been praised for its effectiveness, ensuring all pupils receive the support they need to thrive.

Pupils with SEND receive timely and effective support. They benefit from targeted support and are fully included in day-to-day school life.

Staff expertise, along with external guidance, ensure well-planned strategies that support pupils with SEND to achieve well.

Robust and Ambitious Curriculum: Our curriculum is designed with rigour and ambition, nurturing a genuine love of reading, a passion for developing writing knowledge and skills, and securing depth in mathematical understanding.

The school’s curriculum sets out clearly what pupils should learn and when.

Teachers know precisely what to teach and when to teach it for example, in the well-structured writing curriculum and the ambitious mathematics programme.

The school fosters a love of reading successfully.
