Year 6
Weekly Update - Friday 10th May 2024
Summary of this week:
Dear Year 6 Parents and Carers,
We are nearly there!
The children have been working their little socks off this week. We have completed more past papers and have targeted specific areas that our assessments have yielded as focus points. |
Our learning next week :
Reduced timetable due to SATs.
Maths: We will spend the little time we have left revising for our SATs.
English: We will spend the little time we have left revising for our SATs. On Friday, we will start our next unit of writing.
Foundation: We will teach our final history lesson on the American Civil Rights movement. We will teach an art lesson on Tuesday afternoon that has been planned to be fun and relaxing. We will not be covering foundation subjects on Friday as we will be enjoying our SATs picnic.
|
Homework:
No homework due to SATs. |
Notices & Reminders:
SATs: I am sure that everyone is aware that we have our end of key stage assessments next week. There has been communication previously sent, but just as a reminder to bring in:
We will supply resources that children do not have, but these basics should be part of any primary school pencil case.
SATs picnic: We have spoken to the children and sent out communication regarding this. Children are to bring in a packed lunch (if possible) on Friday 17th May. We will then all go to the field during the afternoon for a fun afternoon of games and well-earned rest. The children may bring in 1 unhealthy snack to enjoy – no nuts please. School uniform is needed, the children do not need to wear PE kit and they are not allowed to wear mufti.
PE kit – Monday and Wednesday will be normal PE days and the children will need kit.
Presentation – We have noticed quite a lot of children like to write on their arms – usually harmless things like their own name. Please make sure they aren’t decorated as we will have to make sure it is washed off before the paper starts.
