Weekly Update - Friday 10th May 2024

Summary of this week:

Dear Year 4 Parents and Carers, 

 

We have had a busy but wonderful week in the sunshine! The children have written their own information text and blown us away with their brilliant writing. We are looking forward to having you read their work at parents evening!  

 

Year 4 Teachers  

Our learning next week:

Maths:  In Maths, we will begin exploring angles by identifying right, acute and obtuse angles.  

 

English: In English, we will begin exploring our new genre, finding tales.  

 

Foundation: In RE, we will be exploring why it is important to celebrate new life.  In PSHE, we will be exploring the impact of people on animals and the environment.  In History, we will be exploring the impact The Romans had on, culture and beliefs, including early Christianity. In Science, we will be identifying the part played by evaporation and condensation in the water cycle by creating a model of the water cycle. 

 

Homework:

Please complete the Maths homework sheet that will be given out on a Monday. We also encourage the children to log into Times Table Rockstars and play some of the games to practise their times tables! Spellings are to be practised each week. 

 

Maths: Homework is set on Monday and due Friday. Aim to spend 30 minutes on this.

Please ensure that parents/carers are not passing the red line on the playground or sitting on the benches at pick up. Children should continue to notify their teacher before going to their adult.

Eastwick Schools May Fair Saturday 18th May 2024 - Donation Fri-Yays!  

Friday 3rd May & Friday 10th May  

This week we are asking for your donations of new and pre-loved games (please ensure they are complete if you are donating pre-loved).  

There will be morning collections available in either infants or juniors at drop off from 8.30am on Friday 3rd May and also on Friday 10th May.
