Dear Parents and Carers,

It has been really nice to have some sunshine this week and the children have enjoyed being outdoors. We have been busy with our learning this week.   

We will continue with Science, Computing, History, Art, PSHE, PE and Music foundation lessons.

Reading record books- Please try and fill in the reading record so we can see how much your child is reading (just the book name and an adult initial). When your child has read these books a minimum of 3 times, they can change their books in class. Please can reading records be brought into school every day.

Spellings- The weekly spelling books will be sent home on a Monday and need to be returned to school on the following Monday, for new spellings to be added.

Please continue to practise counting forwards and backwards from any given number within 50. Please also continue to practise counting in 2’s, 5’s and 10’s.

Reminders:

Swimming- Children come into school in their school uniform on their swimming days and bring their swimming things in a named bag. Please label all your child’s swimming things so their belongings do not go missing. Please also refer to the swimming timetable for your child’s swimming day.

PE- Thursday will be our usual PE day with sports coaches as normal. Please could children come to school in their PE kits. The children will be learning about striking and fielding.

Please ensure all children bring a named coat to school. Children can bring a pair of wellies and leave them in their cloakroom to use. Blue class will be doing Forest school on Tuesday.  

A lot of children have been coming into school with toys to play with. As a year group we have decided we will not be allowing toys to be brought into school. This is for several reasons. Children's belonging are getting damaged, completely broken, or lost which leads to distress which can be avoided.

Please ensure your child comes to school with a water bottle (water only, not squash) and a healthy snack (school fruit is available).

Please check all communications regarding your child’s parents’ evenings. Please make sure you book a slot for your child. If you cannot make your booked slot for any reason, please let your class teacher know as soon as possible to ensure the evenings run as smoothly as possible.

Please can any spare newspaper be brought in and given to your class teacher. This is for an art lesson we will be completing over the next few weeks.
